Urdhva Dhanurasana at 31 Weeks Pregnant-Video
I do not suggest for EVERY PREGNANT WOMAN to go out and do this backbend
I do not recommend beginners to attempt to do this, and for most pregnant folk, my personal opinion is that if you wanna go for it, and have a pretty strong practice, you have a trusted, qualified instructor by your side, to facilitate the process
Having said that it is possible.
In my body, at this stage in my life, with this particular pregnancy, doing Urdhva Dhanurasana feels very good to me. I need these backbends! I sometimes do 3 or maybe only 1. I also make sure that I warm up and open up my body so that when I move into these type of stronger backbends, my body is ready
Also, I don’t practice deep backbends daily, sometimes once a week or even once every 2 weeks.
As I grow with my baby, listening to both my body and her is the key to the KNOWING of what I can and cannot do at any given time.
